Sub-Saharan Africa is home to more than 2,500 different people groups. A people group is a section of people who share a common language, customs, family, and clan identities. For instance: the Fulani people of West Africa are cattle herders who speak Fulfulde. They live in the same geographic region as the Jula people group. The Jula and the Fulani don’t speak the same language and rarely intermarry. |

What does that mean for missions? Well, it means the continent of Africa is a waffle, not a pancake, and each little square is a people group separated by barriers that keep the syrup from spreading. Barriers include things like cultures, clan traditions, religions and languages. We’re hoping HandsOn missionaries will bring some more “syrup” to the hundreds of people groups still unreached in Sub-Saharan Africa. |
