IPS User ID and Password

Every user of the IPS service is issued a unique User ID and Password.

User Id's are numbers that are assigned to each registering unit. They serve for the IMB "Unit". A married couple that are an IMB unit will use the same Id and password. Singles who are different IMB "Units" will need separate Id's and passwords even thought they may share residences or computers.

IPS User ID's allow us to control who has access to IPS materials and record manuscript downloading. As these manuscripts are provided to us at no cost or royalties to you the end user we are responsible to make sure the end user is informed of the responsibilities that comes with using copyrighted materials.

No information you submit for your IPS registration is every distributed without your permission. Remember that we are also IMB. Our Privacy Statement is available for your review. If you have any other questions please feel free to contact us.

Consigning Rights to Other Groups

All IPS materials are copyrighted. This means they are owned by someone. Just as you can not give someone else's stuff away you can't give someone permission to use someone else's materials.

However, if you as IMB personnel are working in a joint project with another group that is not IMB and the project group wants to use some of the materials you have downloaded from IPS as part of the project, those materials can be used jointly as part of the project.

Permission from IPS is required. There is a procedure to follow and the permission must be renewed every year.

If you are engaged in or starting a joint project with another organization or group and would like to use some IPS materials, please refer to the link: Consignment of IPS Usage Rights.

Sharing IPS Materials for the Process of Evaluation

IPS is a service to assist IMB missionaries in sharing resources so they can save time and be more effective in reaching their people for Jesus Christ. The copyright on these materials restricts your sharing the materials except in the process of evaluation. If you are considering using some IPS materials in a program of your work or if you find some IPS materials that could help you start a new work then you may share these materials with those person who will help you make the decision about their usage. Those people may be your team, national leadership, even individuals of a different organization that will be part of joint project you are planning. Any copies you distribute to your evaluation group must have the original IPS Copyright on the copyright page of the document.

Once you have decided to translate or print an IPS manuscript simply fill in the translation request and the print notification form. You will be free to print as many copies as you need and never pay any royalties.
